Original spot of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Not far away, the lighthouse became endangered by the constant erosion on the banks. They finally moved it off to safety at a cost of billions of dollars. You can easily see the lighthouse from the old spot. Building a new one may have been cheaper but this is an icon of the past.
