Overlooking the valley of death

An effective place to put cannons if they had not been overshooting their marks. You would not believe how many cannons were used throughout the battlefield and are still there. At one point after constant shelling and little success, firing was halted to cool them and replace them. The South thought the North was done and launched Pickett's Charge.
