Lake Ponchetrain causeway
|
The longest bridge over water in the world, it is 24 miles long and just like riding a horse (up and down, up and down in your seat). Each weekday over 42,000 cars cross it. There is a $3 toll going south only. Had to drive it. There are 7 crossovers available if needed. I saw school buses and ambulances using it. Be careful of your speed, it is patrolled by lots of police. in foggy conditions, cars are sent across in small groups.
