Jefferson's bedroom13 viewsHe and his wife had separate bedrooms. Us older folks understand why. Can you imagine him trying to bathe in that small tub. While the bedroom is attached to the house, you have to go out on the wide covered back veranda to access the bedroom. This provided more privacy with less noise. As was common in that day, the kitchen is also in a separate building for fire safety and there are a couple of guest houses nearby on the property.
