Very steep McDonald's drive thru29 viewsIt is steeper than it looks. Pulling out, you can't see the driveway so it is very much like a roller coaster ride and fun with a sharp turn to the right at the bottom.

Dining at McDonald's Key style28 viewsI spoke to the owner of this McDonald's in Marathon, FL in the Keys who said he actually decorated the restaurant for the locals, not the tourists, to give them an inviting, and may I say charming place to eat.

Scooter and electric car rentals27 viewsTraffic is pretty tight in Key West and parking hard to find not to mention costly. Many tourists op to leave their car in one place and rent a scooter, small electric car, or bicycle instead.

Water cistern27 viewsBefore water was piped in by the Navy, the Keys depended on rain water saved in cisterns for their water needs. During the 1800s a great fire swept through the area. Residents watched from boats as fire hopped from roof to roof destroying their homes. Since then, only metal roofs, which had survived the fire, were allowed on homes. This also helped with gathering rain water in gutters into cisterns.

Gold bar of the Atocha26 viewsThis display lets you actually touch and hold a gold bar found in the Atocha. It is over 350 years old and rather heavy. Can you imagine the weight of thousands of these in the cargo hold? Worth around $15,000.
