Savannah Layout

When James Oglethorpe layed out Savannah, he did an excellent job that still works very well today. The beautiful city is made up of 24 park-like squares surrounded by homes, businesses, and government offices with each having a specific place in the plan. Each square contains a monument or fountain. They were originally used for meetings and to graze animals.
