Battefield is right next to the river

The british sent ships from New York to try to help Cornwallis but were met by french ships helping the Americans. They were losing the naval battle and headed back to NY. To keep the french from coming after him since they had the harbor blockaded, Cornwallis scuttled some of his ships to create a barrier.
