Lipizzaner Stallions performance in Lakeland
I caught the Lipizzaners while in Wauchula. Their winter training headquarters are nearby in Myakka. Any Thursday or Friday you can watch them train in Myakka free around 3pm. I caught this show in Lakeland as they started their 2009 tour. Only the males perform. Mares are used to continue the breed and as excellent carriage horses. The mares have a different center of gravity so are unable to perform the movements as well as the stallions.
