The spring72 viewsClean water was hard to find as the fighting was so horrible that all the streams were filled with blood. This oasis was won by one side one night then won by the other side the next morning. It was a welcome relief to all.

You would not believe how many cannons were used throughout the battlefield and are still there. At one point after constant shelling and little success, firing was halted to cool them and replace them. The South thought the North was done and launched Pickett's Charge.
